RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: Application Dates Deferred for Around 22,000 Level-1 Posts

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have changed the application dates for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026. As per the latest update, the online application process for around 22,000 Level-1 posts has been postponed. Earlier, applications were supposed to start on 21st January 2026, but now candidates can apply from 31st January 2026. The last date to fill out and submit the application form has also been extended to 2nd March 2026, till 11:59 pm.

This change was announced through an official corrigendum released under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 09/2025. The earlier schedule was published in the Employment News dated 27th December 2025. The revised dates have been given to allow candidates more time to prepare and complete the application process smoothly.

Candidates who wish to apply for RRB Group D Level-1 posts must fill out the application form only through the official RRB website. Applicants are advised to check only official Railway Recruitment Board websites for correct and updated information and stay away from fake or unofficial sources.

Vacancy Details and Pay Scale for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026

The RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 is being conducted to fill approximately 22,000 vacancies across various railway zones and production units of Indian Railways. These vacancies fall under Level-1 posts as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix.

Candidates selected for these posts will be placed in Level-1 and will receive an initial basic pay of INR 18,000 per month. In addition to the basic salary, selected candidates will be eligible for allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), and other benefits as per railway rules.

Age Limit and Relaxation in RRB Group D Recruitment 2026

As per the criteria, candidates applying for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 must be between 18 and 33 years of age as on 1st January 2026. RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: Application Fee Details 

The application fee structure for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 remains unchanged. Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of INR 500. Meanwhile, candidates from SC, ST, PwD categories, as well as all women applicants, need to pay a reduced fee of INR 250. The fee must be paid online during the application process through the available payment modes.

Selection Process of RRB Group D Recruitment 2026

The selection process for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in multiple stages to ensure fair and transparent recruitment. The stages include:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
