Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has announced the start of its admission process for the 2026-27 academic session. The university has also introduced 24 new academic programs across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Applications are set to open from 2 February 2026.
The admission brochures for UG, PG and PhD courses were officially released at an event held at the India International Centre (IIC). The event was attended by Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and GGSIPU Vice Chancellor Professor Mahesh Verma.
According to the university, nearly 40000 seats are available across its university schools and affiliated colleges. Out of these, about 4300 seats are offered directly through university schools and centres of excellence. GGSIPU currently provides more than 230 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, along with PhD programmes in 22 academic disciplines.
The newly launched programmes focus on modern and industry-oriented fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, data science, law, medicine, design and special education. In addition, the university has added nine new affiliated colleges and announced the establishment of an offshore campus in Guyana.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, Vice Chancellor Professor Mahesh Verma said the university is expanding its campuses and updating its curriculum to meet future needs. He invited students from across the country to join GGSIPU and begin their academic journey in the upcoming session.
New Programs Introduced to Meet Industry Demand

In general, undergraduate courses require completion of Class 12, while postgraduate and doctoral programs require relevant bachelor’s or master’s degrees from recognized institutions. Admission Process and Selection Criteria
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has outlined the admission process for the 2026-27 academic session, covering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. Admissions will be conducted through its own Common Entrance Test (IPU-CET) and national-level entrance examinations such as CUET for several UG and PG courses, while NIMCET, JEE Mains, CLAT, GATE, UGC NET and other relevant exams will be considered for specific professional and technical programs.
The university has also confirmed that admissions will be carried out in accordance with the reservation policy prescribed by the Government of India and the Government of Delhi. Reserved category candidates will receive benefits such as seat reservation and eligibility relaxation as per existing rules.
