For students applying under the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) streams, the first phase of the examination will take place from 1 to 26 April 2026. The second phase for these streams will be held between 10 and 17 May 2026. Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the new deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) will be conducted twice a year starting from the 2026–27 academic session. The decision aims to provide students with an additional opportunity to improve their scores and secure admission to professional courses across the state.
With this change, the state-level entrance examination will be aligned with the national Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which also offers engineering aspirants two attempts in a year.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil, following a review meeting with officials of the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell. The CET Cell is responsible for conducting various entrance examinations for higher education institutions in Maharashtra.
