The Indian Postal Department is likely to announce the India Post GDS Result 2026 soon. The result will be released to fill a total of 28,636 vacancies for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts across India. Once declared, candidates can check the result on the official website — indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

The recruitment drive is being conducted for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS), Branch Postmaster (BPM), and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM). The online application process started on 31st January 2026 and ended on 16th February 2026. Thousands of candidates applied for these posts.

India Post GDS Result 2026 Release Date and Merit List

There is no official confirmation about the exact result date yet. However, based on previous years’ trends, the first merit list is expected to be released soon.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the India Post GDS posts, candidates must have:

  • Passed Class 10 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects
  • Knowledge of the local language of the state or postal circle

Age Limit

  • Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years as of 1st January 2026.
  • Age relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

Document Verification Process

Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be called for document verification. This process is expected to be conducted within 15 days after the release of the merit list.

Shortlisted candidates must carry:
