WBJEE 2026 Exam Date

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has officially announced the WBJEE 2026 exam date. According to the notification released on 6 March, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2026 will be conducted on 24 May 2026. Candidates preparing for the examination are advised to regularly visit the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in, for further updates and detailed instructions regarding the examination process.

WBJEE is a state-level entrance test organised for admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering, pharmacy and architecture offered by government and private institutions across West Bengal. Through this examination, eligible candidates can secure admission to various participating universities and colleges in the state.

In previous years, the examination has generally been conducted in April. The WBJEE 2025 exam took place on 27 April, while the tests in 2024 and 2023 were held on 26 and 30 April respectively.

The WBJEE 2025 results were released after a considerable delay due to a legal matter related to OBC reservation policies. The Calcutta High Court had earlier instructed the board to issue a revised merit list that included 7 per cent reservation for 66 OBC categories recognised by the state’s Backwards Classes Department before 2010.

However, the Supreme Court of India later stayed the High Court’s order on August 22, allowing the board to proceed with the result declaration. As a result, the WBJEE 2025 results were announced on 22 August nearly four months after the exam held on 27 April.

In the WBJEE 2025 merit list, Aniruddha Chakrabarti from Don Bosco School, Park Circus secured the top rank in the examination. The second position was obtained by Samyajyoti Biswas of Kalyani Central Model School, while Dishaanth Basu from Delhi Public School, Ruby Park achieved the third rank. Aritro Ray, also a student of Delhi Public School, Ruby Park, secured the fourth position.

The fifth rank was secured by Trishanjit Doloi from Purba International School, Durgapur. Sagnik Patra of Medinipur Collegiate School obtained the sixth position, followed by Sambit Mukhopadhyay from Burdwan Model School, who ranked seventh. Archisman Nandy of DAV Model School, Kharagpur secured the eighth rank, while Pratik Dhanuka from Delhi Public School, Rajarhat completed the top ranks list at the ninth position.
