National Testing Agency (NTA) on 1 April 2026 formally released the admit cards for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 April cycle, marking a key milestone for over 10 lakh engineering aspirants preparing for one of the country’s most competitive entrance exams.
The hall tickets are available for download on the official NTA JEE Main portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can access their admit cards by logging in with their application number and password or date of birth details.
According to the official release, the admit cards have so far been issued for students scheduled to take the exam on 2 April and 4 April 2026. NTA has clarified that admit cards for remaining dates 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 April will be issued in due course and candidates should regularly check the official portal for updates.
What is on the Admit Card?
The JEE Main admit card contains essential information required for entry into the examination centre. Each hall ticket includes:
- Candidate’s name, roll number and photograph
- Exam date and shift timing
- Exam centre address
- Application number and QR code
- Detailed instructions for exam day
Candidates must verify all details carefully. Any discrepancies should be addressed immediately through the official helpline or NTA support channels.
Exam Schedule and Shifts
The Session 2 exams will be conducted in computer‑based test (CBT) mode across various centres in India and select international cities. The BE & BTech paper (Paper 1) is scheduled on multiple days between 2 April and 8 April 2026 in two shifts each day:
- Morning shift: 9 AM to 12 PM
- Afternoon shift: 3 PM to 6 PM
In addition, architecture (BArch) and planning (BPlanning) papers are slated for 7 April 2026.
NTA had recently revised the session 2 examination window to be conducted from 2 April to 8 April 2026 following an earlier schedule update.
City Allotment for Overseas Candidates
Apart from the admit card release, NTA has also issued city intimation slips for candidates appearing from overseas centres such as Kuwait and Dubai. The slips inform candidates of their examination city and centre details. There are ongoing arrangements for candidates in Bahrain, with coordination underway between NTA and the Indian Embassy.
Important Instructions for Aspirants
Candidates are reminded to:
- Carry a printed copy of the admit card
- Bring a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, etc.)
- Reach the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the reporting time
- Follow all safety and exam‑hall guidelines strictly
No electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches or calculators are permitted inside the examination hall.
