IBPS PO Recruitment and Final Selection Process

The IBPS PO recruitment process aims to fill more than 5000 vacancies in various participating public sector banks across the country. The interview round is the final and most important stage of the selection process. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores of the mains examination and interview. Both scores will be normalised as per IBPS rules before preparing the final list. This means the performance in the interview will play a major role in deciding the final selection of candidates.

What the Interview Will Focus On

IBPS PO interview usually tests a candidate’s personality, communication skills, clarity of thoughts, banking awareness, and overall confidence. Candidates may be asked questions related to their education, any previous work experience, and their understanding of the banking sector. The interviewer also asks questions related to recent developments in India’s economy, the banking industry, the digital payment system, government schemes, and RBI Policies.

Questions based on real-life situations may also be asked to understand candidates’ decision-making abilities. To perform well in an interview, candidates should revise important banking concepts, daily news updates, and stay informed about current affairs.

Practising common interview questions, improving communication skills, and appearing confident during the interaction can improve their chances of success. Wearing formal clothes, reaching the venue on time, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout the interview are also important.

Documents to Carry on Interview Day

Candidates should also keep all the documents ready, such as the interview call letter, mains exam scorecard, identity proof, educational certificates, and category certificates if applicable. Carrying a photocopy of all documents can help avoid any last-minute problems.
