IIT Bombay Declares JAM 2026 Result; Scorecards, AIR and Merit List Details Released

IIT Bombay Declares JAM 2026 Result

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially announced the results for the Joint Admission Test for Master’s (JAM) 2026, bringing relief and excitement to thousands of aspirants across the country. Candidates who appeared for the national-level entrance examination can now check and download their results through the official JOAPS portal using their login credentials.

The JAM 2026 examination, conducted in computer-based mode on 15th February 2026, serves as a gateway for admission to postgraduate science programmes such as MSc, Joint MSc-PhD, and other courses offered by IITs and participating institutes.

Result Access and Important Details

Candidates can access their results by visiting the official JAM 2026 website and logging in with their enrollment ID or email ID and password. The scorecard includes crucial details such as marks obtained, All India Rank (AIR), and qualifying status.

The result link has been activated online, and candidates are advised to download and retain their scorecards for future admission processes. As per official updates, scorecards will be available for download from 27th March 2026 onwards.

Merit List and All India Rank (AIR)

For each test paper, IIT Bombay has assigned an All India Rank (AIR) based on candidates’ performance. A separate All India Merit List will be prepared for every subject, considering the available seats in different categories such as General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, and PwD.

Only those candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and are included in the merit list will be eligible to apply for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by IITs and other participating institutions

Admission Opportunities Through JAM 2026

Through JAM 2026, candidates can compete for approximately 3,000 seats across various IITs and premier institutes in India. These programmes span multiple science disciplines, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, and more.

It is important to note that qualifying the JAM exam does not guarantee admission. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria and complete the admission process as specified by the respective institutes.

Expected Cut-Off Trends

While official cut offs are yet to be released, initial estimates suggest that qualifying marks may vary across subjects and categories. For instance, Biotechnology and Chemistry are expected to have cut-offs in the mid-20s for general category candidates, with relatively lower thresholds for reserved categories.
