India, Canada deepen educational ties

Anita Anand, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that India and Canada launched a new talent and innovation strategy. That will deepen the educational ties between both countries. They signed 13 new institutional partnership programmes. Around 20 leading Canadian universities, institutions and colleges will cooperate with India in innovation and research projects.

This initiative is a ray of light for the young researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs. With this, new career opportunities will open and economic growth will continue in both countries despite uncertainty in the world order. The strategy has 4 main pillars that focus on the integration of innovative ideas, create supportive environment for new talent, managing talent migration and demonstrating credibility through the timely implementation of the plans.

During this visit, the University of Waterloo and Tata Consultancy Services signed a memorandum on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation programmes. This is the first step in achieving the common goals of the two countries. 4 Lakh Indian students are currently studying in Canada and this bilateral partnership will support the innovation and economic growth of both nations in the long term, said Anita Anand.

In addition, India and Canada signed a memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation. This step will help Indian arts, culture and media industry in collaboration and innovation. The leader also welcomed the ‘Bharat Tribal Festival 2026’ that aims to promote exchange in entrepreneurship culture, sustainable development by understanding and accepting the ideas and needs of tribal communities.
