Advice for students before applying for JEE MAIN

As per the NTA notice released on 29th September 202,5 students should make sure the following documents and information are

Updated and valid before filling out the form.

  • Aadhaar Card: Must have the correct name as per the Class 10 marksheet, date of birth, address, and a recent photograph.
  • UDID Card: Should be valid and renewed if necessary.
  • Category Certificate: Must be updated and issued by a competent authority.

Key Updates from NTA for JEE Mains 2026

  • Aadhaar-Based Automatic Verification: NTA will now verify candidates’ details like name, date of birth, gender, photo, and address directly through Aadhaar. So, students must make sure their Aadhaar information matches their Class 10 certificate.
  • Live Photo Upload: For the first time, students have to capture and upload a live photo using a webcam or mobile camera during registration. This step helps make the process more secure and genuine.
  • Limited ID Options: Only Aadhaar or DigiLocker can be used as a valid ID proof for registration. Other identity documents will not be accepted in the online form.
  • No Correction Window for Documents: After uploading documents, no changes or re-uploads will be allowed. Incorrect or unclear uploads may cause the form to be rejected.
  • Automatic Verification for PwD Candidates: Details of PwD candidates will be automatically verified through the UDID portal, removing the need for manual checking.
  • Name Mismatch: If a student’s name on the Aadhaar card and Class 10 marksheet is slightly different, the system will give an option to fix it during registration.

Conclusion

JEE MAIN 2026 registration is now open. Candidates are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute issues and severe errors. This year, NTA will not provide students correction window, so even a small mistake in the application form can lead to rejection. Students must read the information first before filling out the form to understand the rules and eligibility.
