The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) is set to commence the Karnataka SSLC (Class 10) examinations 2026 from 18 March 2026, with students appearing for the first language paper on the opening day. The examination schedule will continue with the Science paper on 23 March 2026, followed by the second language exam on 25 March 2026.
This year, nearly 9 lakh students have registered for the board exams, including 812855 fresh candidates, 62845 repeaters, and 27189 private students, reflecting a significant participation across the state. Candidates have been instructed to carry their hall tickets along with school ID cards to the examination centres, as entry will not be permitted without these documents. The hall ticket also contains important details such as reporting time and exam centre information.
In a key update, the board has revised the minimum passing criteria, lowering it from 35% to 33% overall aggregate marks. Students must secure at least 206 out of 625 marks in total and achieve a minimum of 30% in each subject, including both internal and external assessments, to be declared pass.
To facilitate smooth travel for candidates, authorities have arranged free transportation in KSRTC and BMTC buses upon showing a valid hall ticket. Similar arrangements are also being considered for private bus services in coastal and Malnad regions, ensuring easier access to examination centres for students.
Exam Guidelines & Restrictions
Students appearing for the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) SSLC 2026 exams are required to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the board. Candidates must report to their respective examination centres well before the scheduled time mentioned on the hall ticket to avoid last-minute inconvenience. Late entry may not be permitted once the exam begins.
The board has prohibited carrying electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators or any communication gadgets inside the examination hall. Students are also advised to follow a simple dress code and avoid wearing accessories that could raise suspicion during security checks.
Evaluation & Result Timeline
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) is expected to begin the evaluation process soon after the conclusion of the SSLC 2026 exams with answer sheets being assessed under strict guidelines to ensure accuracy and fairness. The results are likely to be declared in May 2026 based on previous trends and will be made available on the official board website for students to access.
