The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the NEET UG 2026 registration process from February 2026. NEET is the biggest medical entrance exam in India, and every year, lakhs of students appear for it. Students aspiring to become doctors or working in the medical field, through NEET, can take their first step.
Students who want admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH Courses, BVSc & AH, BHMS, and BSc Nursing (MNS) must apply for NEET UG. As per the rules, NEET UG is the only entrance exam for undergraduate medical courses in India. That means one exam can open the door to many courses and colleges.
Why Is NEET Important?
NEET UG 2026 scores will be used for admission to medical and allied courses in government and private colleges across the country. Through this exam, students can get admission in MBBS and BDS colleges under the All India Quota and State Quota. It is also required for courses like BAMS, BUMS, BSMS (AYUSH courses), BHMS, Veterinary Science (BVSc & AH), and B.Sc. Nursing in Armed Forces Medical Services hospitals.

NEET UG 2026 Exam Pattern
The NEET UG 2026 exam will follow the same pattern as previous years. The exam will be held in offline mode (pen and paper). The total exam duration will be 3 years (180 minutes). The question paper will be available in 13 languages so students can choose the language they are comfortable with. The exam will be conducted on 3rd May 2026 (Sunday) from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
