The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the syllabus for the CUET UG 2026 entrance exam. CUET is a national-level test conducted by the NTA in CBT mode. Candidates who wish to take admission to undergraduate courses must take this test in the 2026-27 academic session. 250+ Universities give admission through the CUET UG entrance exam, of which 47 are central colleges nationwide. In 2025, NTA conducted this exam from May to June in 35 shifts and in different cities of India. 13.5 Lakh candidates applied for this national-level test, and around 10 Lakh candidates appeared for the test last year. The structure of the test is based on MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions).
Subject-wise Syllabus Available
The subject-wise syllabus is available on the official website of NTA to download for the candidates who want to apply for the 2026 entrance exam. You can download the syllabus for free, which is divided into 3 sections: Language, Domain Subject, and General Test. The language part is included to check the students’ understanding level of reading and writing in the given language.
In the domain section, there are more than 35 subjects in which NTA conducts exam like; physics, mathematics, political science, history, accountancy, Hindi, English, home science, and environmental studies. The syllabus for the General Test is based on General knowledge, current affairs, logical reasoning, basic mathematics, and numerical ability.
CUET UG 2026 Exam Pattern
NTA runs the CUET UG exam in CBT (Computer-Based Test) mode. All the questions are based on MCQs, and there will be negative marking as well. For each correct answer, candidates will get 5 marks and -1 for a wrong answer and 0 marks for unanswered questions. It is dependent on colleges on how much weightage they give to a subject or domain. So, students should check the eligibility and admission criteria of each college before submitting their preferences for the universities.
