The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced that the RRB Group D Exam 2-25 for Level 1 posts under CEN 08/2024. The RRB Group D exam 2025, which was scheduled to be held from 17 November to 31 December 2025, has been temporarily postponed.
As per the court’s notice, the case was transferred to the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), which has instructed the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) to postpone all further proceedings until the final decision is made. The CAT’s decision on the matter is expected to be announced on Tuesday, after which all future schedules of the RRB Group D Exam Date 2025 will be confirmed.
As per the notice published on the RRB official website, the exam will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode and conducted in several phases to accommodate the large number of applicants. Candidates are advised to follow only the official RRB notifications for verified updates regarding the exam dates and other details.

Railway Group D Exam Date 2025 New Schedule
While students wait for the CAT’s decision on the RRB Group D Exam 2025, a notice is spreading on social media saying that the exam will now be held from 4 January to 17 March 2026. However, the RRB has not confirmed any new dates yet.
RRB has said that the final exam schedule will be shared only on the official website after the court hearing is over. Candidates are advised not to trust viral news or fake news. Those preparing for the exam should check only the official website of RRB for the latest updates.
Railway Group D Exam Date 2025 Exam Pattern
The RRB Group D Exam 2025 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam is conducted to check the candidate’s basic knowledge and aptitude for Level 1 posts. It consists of objective-type questions (multiple choice) and is conducted in online mode across multiple shifts.
The CBT includes 100 questions carrying 1 mark each, and candidates are given 90 minutes to complete the test. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong question.
Candidates who qualify the CBT will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. The final selection will be based on performance in all stages as per the RRB rules.

- General Awareness and Current Affairs
RRB Group D Exam Mode and Language Option
To make the exam fair and easy for everyone, it will be held in multiple languages. Apart from English and Hindi, candidates can choose from regional languages such as Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Urdu. This allows candidates from different parts of the country to take the test in the language they are most comfortable with.
