The West Bengal Municipal Service Commission (WBMSC) has released the admit cards for Engineering posts forthe 2026 recruitment year. Candidates who have filled out an application form for the Assistant Engineering posts can check out and download the admit card from the official website of WNMSC: https://mscwb.org/.
The exam for that post will be conducted on 18th January 2026 and candidates must ensure to take a copy of the printed admit cards and other important documents with them to the exam hall. This recruitment drive aims to fulfil the vacant positions in civil engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering according to the Advt. No. 13 of 2025.

Follow the given steps to download the assistant engineer admit cards.
- Visit the official website of WBMSC https://mscwb.org/.
- Click on the ‘download admit card’ option.
- Choose the link of Advt. No. 13 of 2025 to download the admit cards.
- Enter your registration number and date of birth.
- Then the admit card will appear on your screen.
- Take 2 hardcopies of the admit cards for the exam day.
The details related to exam date, exam centre and exam duration are all mentioned in the admit card. WBMSC is going to conduct the exam in offline mode and it consists of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) based on the engineering discipline.
WBMSC Assistant Engineer Exam Pattern 2026
The exam for Assistant Engineering posts is going to be conducted only in Kolkata and in offline mode through pen and paper. The written test includes 100 multiple-choice questions and the total marking is 200 marks. For each correct answer, candidates will get 2 marks and there is negative marking as well, with 1 marks will be deducted for each incorrect or wrong answer. The question set will be in English and the exam timing is 1 and half-hour.
After clearing the written test, there will be a personality test, which is based on 40 marks. To be eligible for the personality test, all the candidates need to clear the written test with the expected cutoff (80 for the general category). The personality test is going to be the final test for the selection process in assistant engineering post.
Important Instructions for AE 2026 Exam Day
Students can read these instructions in the admit card as well.
- Carry the printed WBMSC AE admit card 2026 to the exam hall.
- Along with that, carry a valid ID card and a photocopy of it.
- Electrical devices like; phone or smartwatches are restricted in the exam centre.
- Black Ball Point Pen to fill the OMR answer sheet will be provided by the Supervisor.
- Participants should reach the exam centre 15 minutes before the reporting time.
