The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the JEE Main Session 2 Result 2026 for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), bringing relief and excitement to lakhs of engineering aspirants across the country. Candidates who appeared for the April session can now check and download their scorecards from the official website.
This year, the examination witnessed massive participation, with over 11 lakh candidates appearing for Session 2, reflecting the intense competition for engineering admissions in India. The results include key details such as the candidate’s NTA score, All India Rank (AIR), and qualifying status for the next stage.
Scorecards Available Online
Candidates can access their results by logging in using their application number and password or date of birth. The scorecard is an essential document required for counselling and admission processes into top engineering institutions, including NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutes.
Due to heavy traffic on the official website, some candidates initially faced delays in accessing their results, as lakhs attempted to download scorecards simultaneously.
Exam and Evaluation Process
The JEE Main Session 2 exams were conducted in early April across multiple shifts. To ensure fairness, the NTA uses a normalisation process. Raw marks are first calculated based on the marking scheme +4 marks for correct answers and -1 for incorrect responses and then converted into NTA scores.
The final results are prepared using the final answer key, which is released after reviewing objections raised by candidates against the provisional answer key. Once published, the final answer key becomes binding.
Top Performers and Competition Level
As per reports, 26 candidates secured a perfect 100 percentile, highlighting the rising competition level in one of India’s toughest entrance exams. Additionally, around 2.5 lakh candidates have qualified for JEE Advanced 2026, the gateway to admission into prestigious IITs.
What’s Next for Candidates?
Students who have cleared the JEE Main cutoff will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026, which is scheduled to be held in May. This exam is crucial for securing admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Candidates are advised to download and keep multiple copies of their scorecards for future use. They should also stay updated about counselling schedules and further admission procedures through official channels.
